Terms of Service
The Solano Weekly
Effective date: August 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Solano Weekly website, email newsletter, chatbot, social-media pages and related content or services (collectively, the “Services”). “The Solano Weekly,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to “The Solano Weekly”.
By accessing or using the Services, subscribing to the newsletter, submitting material or purchasing advertising, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. About The Solano Weekly
The Solano Weekly is a curated digital guide to events, entertainment, restaurants, attractions, family activities, nightlife, parks, museums, waterfront destinations, wineries, breweries, shopping and local favorites in Benicia, Vallejo and Mare Island, Fairfield, Suisun City, Vacaville and Rio Vista, California.
We select listings based on editorial judgment, relevance, space and available information. We are not required to list every event or business, and submitting information does not guarantee publication.
2. Informational and Editorial Content
Our content is provided for general informational, editorial and entertainment purposes. Unless expressly stated, The Solano Weekly is not the organizer, owner, operator, sponsor, ticket seller or host of the events, businesses or locations described.
Event schedules, performers, prices, age restrictions, availability, business hours, policies and locations may change without notice. Always confirm current information directly with the event organizer, venue or business before attending, purchasing tickets or traveling.
Check to make sure there have been no changes to entertainment schedules, event dates, business hours, prices or locations before attending.
3. No Endorsement or Guarantee
A listing, article, link, photograph, video, advertisement or mention does not necessarily constitute our endorsement. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, accessibility, accuracy, availability or suitability of any third-party event, product, service, venue or business.
You are responsible for evaluating activities and making decisions appropriate for your health, age, abilities and circumstances. Contact emergency services by calling 911 when necessary.
4. Third-Party Websites, Tickets and Videos
The Services may link to organizers, venues, businesses, ticketing services, YouTube, social-media platforms and other third parties. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, purchases, refunds or terms.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party’s policies. A broken, changed or redirected link does not create liability for The Solano Weekly.
5. Newsletter Subscriptions and Email
You may subscribe using a valid email address. You agree that we may send the newsletter, service notices, corrections and occasional promotional messages. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting [email protected].
We may suspend or discontinue delivery to addresses that bounce, generate abuse complaints, threaten security or violate these Terms.
6. Event and Community Submissions
You may submit events, corrections, announcements, photographs, videos, links or other material (“Submitted Content”) for consideration. You represent and warrant that:
the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
you have the authority and all necessary rights and permissions to submit it;
it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;
it is not unlawful, misleading, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene or harmful; and
any people shown have provided any permission required for publication.
You retain ownership of your Submitted Content. By submitting it, you grant The Solano Weekly a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, edit, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, promote, archive and format it in connection with the Services. This license includes use in newsletters, websites, social media and promotional materials. You may request that future use stop by contacting us, but we may retain archival copies and materials already distributed.
We may accept, reject, edit, postpone or remove any submission at our discretion. Submission does not guarantee publication, placement, timing or continued availability.
7. Photographs, Videos and AI-Created Images
Real photographs and videos should be used only when their source and usage rights are reasonably established. Submitters must have permission to provide media to us.
When an appropriate real photograph is unavailable, The Solano Weekly may use an AI-created promotional illustration or concept image. We will not knowingly present a generated illustration as documentary proof of a real event. Generated images may depict an event’s general theme or atmosphere and may not show the actual venue, performers, attendance or conditions.
8. Advertising and Sponsored Content
We may offer paid advertising, sponsorships or promoted listings. Advertising does not guarantee attendance, sales, leads, placement, exclusivity or any other result unless stated in a separate written agreement.
Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy, legality and required disclosures of their claims, offers, prices, images and links. We may reject, edit, label, postpone or remove advertising that conflicts with our standards or applicable law. Specific pricing, deadlines, cancellation terms and deliverables will be governed by the advertiser’s written order or agreement.
9. Intellectual Property
The Solano Weekly name, original writing, layout, graphics, branding and other original materials are owned by or licensed to The Solano Weekly and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, logos, photographs, videos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
You may share links to our public pages and quote brief portions for noncommercial purposes with clear attribution. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, sell, frame, remove attribution from or commercially exploit substantial portions of our content without written permission.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or deceptive activity;
submit false information or content you do not have permission to use;
impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation;
introduce malicious code or interfere with security or operation;
harvest email addresses or personal information;
use automated tools to copy substantial content without permission; or
use our name or content to imply an unauthorized endorsement.
11. Corrections
We welcome good-faith correction requests. Please identify the newsletter date or page, the information at issue, the proposed correction and a reliable official source. We may verify, correct, clarify or remove information at our discretion. Contact [email protected].
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Solano Weekly and its owner, contributors, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, personal injury, property damage, event cancellation, travel costs, ticket disputes or losses arising from your use of or reliance on the Services or any third party.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to The Solano Weekly during the six months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless The Solano Weekly and its owner, contributors and contractors from claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable expenses arising from your Submitted Content, your violation of these Terms or your infringement of another person’s rights.
16. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or terminate access, remove content or discontinue any part of the Services when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, platform operation or enforcement of these Terms. Provisions that logically should survive termination will remain in effect.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. Your continued use after a revision becomes effective means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that may be brought in court will be subject to the state or federal courts located in Solano County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
19. General Terms
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and any separate written advertising agreement constitute the applicable agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
