Accessibility Statement
A website made to be enjoyed by everyone
The Solano Weekly exists to connect the whole community with what's happening across Solano County — and that only works if the website itself is easy for every reader to use, no matter how they browse.
Our commitment
We believe local news and event guides should be genuinely open to everyone — longtime residents, newcomers, visitors planning a weekend trip, and readers of every age and ability. That's the spirit behind everything we publish, and it's the spirit behind how we build this site.
We're a small, community-focused publication, not a legal or accessibility certification body. This page isn't a formal compliance statement — it's simply our honest promise that accessibility matters to us, and that we're always working to do better.
How we try to make the site easy to use
We aim to follow web accessibility best practices as we design and update every page, including:
- 🔆Readable color contrast, so text is easy to see against our backgrounds
- 🧭Clear, consistent page structure with proper headings so screen readers and navigation tools make sense of the content
- 🔗Simple, predictable navigation so it's easy to find Home, Articles, Sign Up, and Contact Us from anywhere on the site
- 📱A layout that adapts cleanly to phones, tablets, and desktops, since we know most of our readers check us on the go
- ⌨️Attention to keyboard-friendly navigation, so the site can be used without a mouse
We welcome your feedback
If you ever run into something on this site that's hard to read, hard to navigate, or just doesn't work the way it should, please tell us. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and real feedback from real readers is how we improve.
Let us know if you need information in a different format, run into a barrier using the site, or want to request an accommodation — we genuinely want to hear from you and will do our best to help.
